Posted below are two 1,000,000 rials Iran cheques first issued in 2010. Neither of the notes is printed with any year date. Like those emergency cheques issued, the designs on the back are only Farsi/Persian texts.
The main feature on the front is the image of the ancient ruins of Tachara in Persepolis. Persepolis is situated in the western side of Iran, closer to the Persian Gulf. The Tachara is also known as the Palace of Darius the Great. Building for the palace was started during the reign of Darius l (King of Kings b.550-486BC) and was only completed after his death by his son and successor, Xerxes l (b.518-465BC).
