many of the banknotes posted here do not need descriptions. the designs are beautiful enough for me to add any more details - a picture is worth a thousand words

বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংক

The title of this post says for itself. This note was released on 19.12.2022 to celebrate the country's Golden Jubilee of the Constitution and the Supreme Court of Bangladesh.

Bangladesh's independence day is celebrated on 26th of March. On 26.03.1971, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman declared the Independence of Bangladesh (then known as East Pakistan), which led to West Pakistan launching an assault on East Pakistan, thus the beginning of the War of Independence. The civil war then went on for nine months, and ended on 16.12.1971. The end of the war is also celebrated as Victory day in Bangladesh.

Exactly one year after the end of the War of Independence, the Constitution of Bangladesh was established on 16.12.1972, whilst the Supreme Court of Bangladesh was established earlier on 09.01.1972. This is the highest court of laws in the country.
