Asia here is only referred to Southern Asia and the rest of Western (Middle East) and Central Asia. I have separated SouthEast Asia and East Asia with different links here.

many of the banknotes posted here do not need descriptions. the designs are beautiful enough for me to add any more details - a picture is worth a thousand words

.Bhutan - 2008 Issues King Coronation Commemorative

Two notes of 50 and 1000 Ngultrum both dated 2008. These two notes were believed to be issued to celebrate the coronation of King Jigme Kkhesar Namgyel Wangchuck. King Jigme Wangchuck was born in 1980 and is the son of former King Jigme Singye Wangchuck. He became King of Bhutan on 09.12.2006 and the coronation ceremony was held on 01.11.2008, which was also an auspicious year that marked the 100th year of the monarchy in Bhutan. I believe these are the only two notes issued with the 2008 year date.

The 1000 Ngultrum note posted here is a replacement note printed with letter Z prefix.
