Muscat and Oman was once a state that includes the present day of Oman, part of the United Arab Emirates and a tiny piece of land called Gwadar in Pakistan. Gwader was once an overseas possession of Oman from 1783 to 1958. Gwadar is located in Pakistan on the shores of the Arabian sea. It was once an independent state between 1820 to 1892 and became British Protectorate from 1892 to 1971. In August 1970, its changed the name to the Sultanate of Oman.
