.Bhutan - 500 Ngultrum 1994 National Day Celebration

This is a commemorative note issued to celebrate the country's National Day in 1994. National day is celebrated on the 17 of December. The front of this note features the late King Jigme Singye Wangchu. He reigned between 1907 to 1926. He was born in 1862 and died in 1926. On the back of the note is the Punakha Dzong, which means the Palace of Great Happiness. Punakha Dzong was built between 1637-1638. This building is now used as the administrative center of Punakha District in Punakha Bhutan.
